Because very few meals that are accessible to our congregants are available in Cambridge on the weekend, we recruited volunteer teams to prepare and distribute a sandwich meal outdoors every Saturday afternoon in Harvard and Central Squares. Each group of volunteers commits to one Saturday every month or every other month. This program not only provides a meal, but also facilitates meaningful and ongoing interactions between our homeless congregants and volunteers from area churches and schools.
